Official Trailer Revives the Spirit of Classic Resident Evil with the Original RE1 Cast
The world of survival horror has just received a highly anticipated and powerful jolt. RESURRECTION: A BIOHAZARD STORY has officially revealed its first trailer, instantly capturing the attention of long-time Resident Evil fans by featuring the original live-action cast from Resident Evil (1996). More than a tribute, this project feels like a true resurrection bringing back voices, characters, and an atmosphere that defined the foundations of the genre.
Series Overview
RESURRECTION: A BIOHAZARD STORY is a four part live action Resident Evil fan series directed by Andrew Saullo, creator of The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story. The story is brought to life by Begg, writer and producer of the project, whose passion for the franchise is evident throughout the series’ direction.
The project reunites the original 1996 live-action Resident Evil cast, a decision that immediately grounds the series in authenticity and emotional continuity:

- Charlie Kraslavsky as Chris Redfield
- Greg Smith as Barry Burton
- Eric Pirius as Albert Wesker
- Linda as Rebecca Chambers
In addition to the on screen cast, the series also features iconic voices from the franchise’s history, including Pablo Kuntz (original Wesker), Joe Whyte (Chris Redfield, 2002), and Ward Sexton, famously known as “the voice of Resident Evil.” Their inclusion further reinforces the project’s commitment to honoring the legacy of the series.
Setting & Plot
Set years after the events of the infamous mansion incident, the story unfolds in Rosa Enferma, a remote town in Mexico where a new viral outbreak begins to spread. What initially seems isolated soon reveals itself as part of a far more sinister bioterror threat.

As the situation escalates, Chris, Barry, Jill, and Rebecca are drawn back into the nightmare they thought they had survived. The return of Albert Wesker, long believed to be gone, signals that the past is far from buried and that the consequences of Umbrella’s experiments are still unfolding…
Production & Crowdfunding
Currently in pre-production, the released trailer offers an early look at the series’ tone, visual language, and creative direction. The project is being produced by the Residence of Evil team, following their successful fan film The Keeper’s Diary.
Supporters of the ongoing Indiegogo campaign will gain access to exclusive perks, behind-the-scenes material, and limited-edition merchandise, helping bring this ambitious fan-driven project to life.
A Love Letter to Survival Horror

Rather than feeling like a modern reimagining, RESURRECTION: A BIOHAZARD STORY comes across as a passion project built by fans who deeply understand why Resident Evil mattered. This is not about modern spectacle or action heavy bad movie adaptations like the ones Hollywood has failed to deliver when adapting the Resident Evil Universe to the Big Screen.
Final Thoughts
The release of the RESURRECTION: A BIOHAZARD STORY trailer is more than a nostalgic callback it’s a statement. A reminder that Resident Evil lore doesn’t need reinvention to be effective. Even when building a new story, we can still Respect the lore when looking forward. Sometimes, it simply needs respect for its roots.

If the final series delivers on the atmosphere, performances, and restraint shown in this early concept trailer, Resurrection has the potential to stand as one of the most meaningful fan-driven projects in the history of Resident Evil. And that would be a double Home Run for ROE because following the success of The Keeper’s Diary this is very highly anticipated by the Resident Evil Fanbase.
For fans of classic tension, slow burn dread, and true survival horror this is one resurrection worth watching. We can’t wait to see the final product!
