Saint of Chains : An Exclusive look into MystiveDev Creative Process

In the vast and twisted landscape of indie horror, few studios carry a signature as personal and unmistakable as MystiveDev. This isn’t a giant team or a faceless company it’s two brothers, two developers who have spent over 15 years shaping nightmares, experimenting with game design, and pushing the boundaries of interactive fear.

Their journey began in the modding scene, crafting experiences for Half-Life and building intricate Warcraft 3 maps. Over time, that passion evolved into full-fledged projects that began defining their identity: Alan Sharp, Wipe: Toilet Plague (under Mystive Studios), the atmospheric and surreal Mirror Forge (developed under MystiveDev and published by DreadXP), the chaotic holiday horror Santa Fell in the Wrong House, and the ambitious sci-fi descent Chasmal Fear, published by Snail Games USA/Wandering Wizard.

And now, they return with their most intriguing project yet: Saint of Chains a title shaped by psychological tension, dark fantasy aesthetics, and the kind of intimate horror only a small, dedicated team can deliver.

MystiveDev’s story doesn’t end with their games. Their publishers recently produced a full documentary exploring the studio’s philosophy, struggles, creative process, and the making of Chasmal Fear. You can find it on their website: mystivedev.com a perfect companion piece to the conversation you’re about to hear.

In our interview, Bobby takes us deep into the creative engine that drives MystiveDev. We talk inspiration, experimentation, the challenges of being a two-person studio, and how their unique vision shapes every corner of Saint of Chains.

If you love survival horror, indie development stories, and creators who pour their entire soul into their work, this is one interview you can’t miss.
